Wisconsin Energy Institute/Great Lakes Bioenergy Research Center

My name is Yiying Xiong. I am current Associate Director at Great Lakes Bioenergy Research Center at UW-Madison. Prior to joining the bioenergy sector, I was a hydropower professional for nearly 20 years. This photo was taken several years ago when I was performing a technical assessment of a hydropower plant in the Amazon jungles in South America. I decided to participate in Science_A_Thon because I am really passionate about renewable energy and would love to attract more young people to join this industry. I also have an ambitious dream that all renewable energies (hydropower, bioenergy, wind, solar, geothermal, etc) will work together to help us build a more sustainable energy world. Together we can shape our future for climate change and energy crisis.
