My name is Valeria Nogales.
I am a Research Assistant in the Instituto Geofisico - Ecuador.
When I took this picture, I was on a field trip to the Cotopaxi volcano. We were investigating the lahars of the 1877 eruption: mapping, taking aerial photos and recollecting samples.
Engaging more women in the STEM path is essential to build the world I want to live in. Hence, I want to collaborate every time I can to create and buttress spaces that promote this. That is why I decided to participate in the Science-A-Thon.
