Sunset Over New York City

My family calls this the 'mosquito mask' and it's a fairly unflattering, honest picture into my "I wonder if this might work" moments of being an experimental scientist. Doing some home-brew science in my garage and basement during COVID lockdown to see if I can measure respiratory aerosols with equipment I had available. I'm an associate professor of chemistry at the University of Denver, and most of what I do relates to questions of particle detection as well as human health and environmental health impacts of aerosols, both indoors and out. I like to participate in Science-A-Thon, because everyone needs to know that everyone can do science.
