Hi! I'm Dr. Rachel Gabor, an assistant profess in the School of Environment and Natural Resources at Ohio State University. My research is at the intersection of hydrology and biogeochemistry and I am particularly interested in how the landscape, and human changes to the landscape, affect water chemistry. In this picture I am collecting samples for a project one of my students is working on studying how beaver dams affect acid mine drainage streams. Other student research in my lab includes looking at organic matter and plastics in urban streams and studying possible methods to control hazardous algal blooms. I am participating in Science-A-Thon because it always a great way to celebrate science.
