Sunset Over New York City

About me: My name is Jenn Fehrenbacher. I'm an interdisciplinary research scientist and faculty member at Oregon State University where I study modern and past ocean climate change primarily using the geochemistry and ecology of foraminifera (tiny sand grained sized shells protist). In this photo, we're standing next to a sediment trap that will collect foraminifera over the next 6 months at 2 week intervals. This is my 4th year participating in Science-A-Thon. I was also previously a member of the leadership team for the organization. I love sharing my #dayofscience and learning about what goes on in the day to day with other researchers around the country and world.
