Hi! I'm a geomorphologist and assistant professor in the Geology and Geological Engineering Department at the Colorado School of Mines. In this photo, I'm trying not to fall down a very steep hill at my field site in California, where we're examining the effects of squirrels and vegetation regrowth on steepland erosion processes after wildfires. I participate in Science-a-thon because one of my passions is helping to break down stereotypes and encourage other aspiring scientists from underrepresented and nontraditional backgrounds.
