Meet the Science-A-Thon Leadership Team

Tracey Holloway - Chair

Tracey Holloway is a professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, jointly appointed in the Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies and the Department of Atmospheric and Ocean Sciences. She wears a lot of hats – including leader of Science-A-Thon! Tracey also leads the NASA Health and Air Quality Applied Science Team (HAQAST), and outreach for the UW-Madison Energy Analysis and Policy Program. One of her greatest accomplishments is having co-founded and served as the first president of the Earth Science Women’s Network (ESWN) – one of the amazing organizations supported through Science-A-Thon.

Michelle Yun - Leadership Committee

Michelle Yun is a senior attorney at Alliant Energy – one of the sponsors of Science-A-Thon! She was an engineer before she went to law school, and considers herself an engineer first.  Michelle is passionate about making STEM engaging and accessible for everyone!

Andy Wentland - Leadership Committee

Andy Wentland is currently employed as a senior quantitative analyst in the sales finance department at Twitter. He is looking forward to expanding the social media impact of Science-A-Thon so that this year’s celebration of science can be the biggest yet!

Jennifer Fehrenbacher - Leadership Committee

Jennifer Fehrenbacher is an assistant professor in the College of Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric Sciences at Oregon State University. As an avid traveler and #foram enthusiast, she is striving to connect people across the world through science!

Matilyn Bindl - Program Coordinator

Matilyn Bindl is a recent graduate of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the current Science-A-Thon coordinator and website designer. Her goal is to shine a spotlight on all of the amazing scientists that are changing the world every day!

Allie Barringer - Social MEdia

Allie Barringer is a graduate student in Human Development and Family Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and our Science-A-Thon social media co-manager. She specializes in sharing the voices of hundreds of scientists across the globe through their #dayofscience on Instagram!

Clara Jackson - Social MEdia

Clara Jackson is a recent graduate of Environmental Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and our Science-A-Thon social media co-manager. She specializes in sharing the voices of hundreds of scientists across the globe through their #dayofscience on Twitter!

Colleen Schmit - Accounts Manager

Colleen Schmit keeps track of the finances of Science-A-Thon and the Earth Science Women's Network (ESWN). She is also the Engagement Coordinator for the Energy Analysis & Policy program and a master's student in Environmental Conservation at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. She has been involved with ESWN part-time since 2014 and appreciates how Science-A-Thon shares fascinating perspectives from a wide variety of scientists!
